AI is making every business look the same. Is yours one of them?

Today, anyone can generate a logo, a text or a campaign in minutes with the help of artificial intelligence. For many business owners, this seems to solve the brand problem. In practice, it reveals another one.

When everyone has access to the same tools, what sets a brand apart is no longer execution. It becomes the strategy behind it.

AI is already part of small businesses

Sebrae's "Digital Transformation in Small Businesses 2025" study shows the scale of this change. When asked spontaneously, 44% of entrepreneurs said they had already used some kind of AI. Among small companies, the figure reaches 65%.

When the question includes specific tools, such as GPS, facial recognition and virtual assistants, AI use reaches 83% of small businesses in Brazil. Pernambuco stands at over 85%, the highest rate in the Northeast.

In marketing, the shift is even faster. Industry surveys indicate that the share of content professionals using AI at work rose from about 65% in 2023 to nearly 90% in 2025.

The risk of every brand looking the same

AI learns from what already exists. Without direction, it tends to produce what is common: the same colors, the same phrases, the same formats.

If your competitors use the same tools, with the same generic prompts, the result is a market full of look-alike brands. And look-alike brands end up competing on the only criterion left: price.

What AI won't do for you

AI executes well what someone knows how to ask for. But it doesn't decide for you:

  • who your brand exists for;

  • what it promises and what it refuses;

  • what place it wants to occupy in the market;

  • what its truth is, the thing only your business has.

These answers come from investigating the business, the audience and the context. Without them, AI speeds up production, but it does not build a brand.

How LakeLab works

At LakeLab, strategy comes before any tool. Through the LAKE Method©, we investigate the business and define positioning, values, personality and tone of voice.

The strategic dossier we deliver works as a guide for everything that comes next, including how to use AI. With a clear strategy, technology works in favor of your brand, instead of making it look like everyone else.
